Budding blogger Elke popped onto our radar recently with her dreamy posts and wishful musings on Make//Believe. As a young blogger, she aspires to be well respected because of what she does, not because of her age “I don’t hope to be like Tavi Gevinson, who is about my age, or anything, where it’s so amazing that she is so cool because she so young. I don’t want to be part of the wave of teen bloggers, where it always seems to be about how many followers you have or whatever. I just want to write and draw and tell people what I think about FASHION and then if they like what I’m doing,that’s cool, but if not, then that’s okay too.” Her dream is to make something out of just doing what she loves, and the hopes one day Make//Believe will be read in glossy print on the magazine stands. With the mercury on the rise and a change in the air, I’ll be hitting the beach any day now, but not without my top 10 summer must haves!

1. Perfect swimmers, these are from WE ARE HANDSOME
2. Burts Bees Aloe Vera lotion, this stuff is pure magic for sunburns
3. The perfect beach bag takes the form of a backpack, so much more practical, and just as cute, this one is from GENERAL PANTS CO.
4. Sunglasses! I like them in tortoiseshell and I always have a couple cheap backup pairs, since mine seem to always be mysteriously breaking…these are from ASOS.com
5. A nice hat, this floppy felt one is by AGENT NINETYNINE
6. Soft beach towels, they make all the difference, and nobody makes them better than LACOSTE
7.Bright, pop nail polish, real eye catching shades are my favourite, these are from TOPSHOP’s NEW MAKE UP RANGE
8. Good reading material is essential to a good summer, I’m reading Summer Crossing by Truman Capote, and it’s only $10 as a POPULAR PENGUIN EDITION
9. Keep out of the heat with a silk sunshirt, the peach one is from TOPSHOP, the black one from ALICE IN THE EVE
10. Finally, I always find a good summer soundtrack must include THE DRUMS, with songs like ‘lets go surfing’ these boys were meant for this season.
